Paul L Sedlacek, DVM
Dr. Sedlacek graduated from Michigan State University’s College of
Veterinary Medicine in 1984. He had previously earned an early admission to
that program after only two years of undergraduate studies, also at MSU.
Following graduation, Paul was employed by Benson Animal Hospitals of
Lansing, Michigan, a group of 5 privately owned veterinary clinics. After
only six months in this practice, Dr. Sedlacek was promoted to manager of
one of these hospitals.
After three years at Benson’s, Paul returned to NJ in 1987, and to the
same practice in which he previously worked as a kennel boy and later as a
technician. Following a prearranged transitional period with the former
owner, Dr. Albert Singer, Dr. Sedlacek became owner of the Animal Clinic of
Morris Plains in 1988.
During his tenure at ACMP, the clinic has grown tremendously.
Initially there was a staff of 3, including 1 veterinarian. Today, there are
5 vets on staff and a total of over 25 employees.
Dr. Sedlacek has a strong interest in avian and exotic animal medicine
and surgery, as well as small animal internal medicine and surgery. He has
provided services for numerous breeders, kennels, aviaries, and mini zoos.
Professional organizations include the American Veterinary Medical
Association, the NJVMA, Metropolitan NJVMA, Association of Avian
Veterinarians, and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians.
Paul is Married to Christine Sedlacek, MD and has five children.
